Paper Worthy of An Album
For beautiful presentation of your photos and written words, we've choosen only the best paper page for our albums and books. Our rich pages are always made with acid- and lignin-free paper and buffered with calcium carbonate reserve. These chemical specifications ensure maximum permanence, durability and pH stability. Our paper will not turn brown or chemically react with your photos.
A Better Binding
Because a completed album can weigh around six pounds, the binding of an album is crucial. Our classic edition smythe sewn binding is crafted to last for centuries. We use an ultra-strong polyamide thread designed for both its endurance and elastic properties – so strong it supports the weight of heavy pages and its unique flexibility allows for low stress page turning. Our interlocking stitch pattern prevents unraveling even if a thread is broken. And best of all, the spacers sewn into the binding provide the loft needed to accommodate the thickness of mounted photos. Even our guest books and journals are manufactured with the same superior smythe sewn binding.
Elegant Covers
Inside, the high-density bookbinder's board provides a solid casing for your treasured photographs. Covering this is imported satin cloth for a luxurious feel and a classic appeal. Our signature palate allows you to mix or match covers for any occasion or photo collection.
Storage Box
Humidity, light and heat, are the most significant threats to photo longevity. For added protection, each 100-Page album comes with a museum archive quality metal edge storage box. Archival quality means 60-point acid- and lignin-free boxboard with a pH of 8.5 and 3% calcium carbonate reserve for buffering. An acrylic coating provides a barrier to surface absorption of humidity. Each Metal Edge box features a "drop spine" for easy repeated access and cold-rolled steel edges for optimal structural integrity.
